International Women’s Day 8th March 2017

International Women’s Day was sparked off by some very Smart Spirited women in New York over a 100 years ago. For a century, it’s highlighted and celebrated the importance of women and spread across the world. This year it’s theme is #BeBoldForChange.

Shockingly we are still 170 years off pay parity with men! What that means for you as a women right now, is that you are being underpaid and undervalued for the work you do. It affects women from all parts of society from the graduate to those who have reached board level. Salary surveys from around the world reflect the same findings that women are underpaid in comparison to men.

Rather than waste time blaming a patriarchal society, the #BeBoldForChange is an invitation for you to show willingness, courage and confidence to go for what you want. This might be a pay rise, promotion or request for flexible working. Maybe you really want to set your own business up and create your own pay scale.

Asking yourself the following questions is an easy step in firing up your Boldness:-

If you are feeling stuck with your career or needing some inspiration about what to do next then join me and other Smart Spirited Women for a free lunchtime online workshop called Be Bold & Confident.
